Captain of Accra Hearts of Oak Fatawu Mohammed finally laid his hands on the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League trophy after an 11-year wait.

It was all joy when the players of Hearts got hold of the trophy that had eluded them over the past seasons as they celebrated their league triumph in style.

Despite losing 1-0 to a brilliantly taken free-kick by WAFA’s Atte Yousifou, the Phobians were not perturbed having won the league last week after their 1-1 draw against Liberty Professionals.

WAFA with this win finished in third and continued their home dominance over the Phobians who have never won at the Red Bull Arena.

Hearts finished the season with 61 points, four points ahead of their rivals Kotoko who are yet to feature in their week-34 league encounter against Elmina Sharks on Sunday.

Hearts have a big chance to win the double this season as they are in the quarter-finals of this year’s MTN FA Cup and will face off against Elmina Sharks next week. — GNA
